TrueNAS editions in comparison:
TrueNAS CORE is free and open source and is the successor to the very popular FreeNAS. It runs on virtually any x86_64 system and offers a wide range of features for many users. Plugin applications such as Plex, NextCloud and Asigra allow you to customize the functionality of a system for many use cases.
TrueNAS Enterprise is available as a system with one or two controllers to enable high availability (HA). It can also be delivered with enterprise-grade support from iXsystems. When paired with the TrueNAS M-Series, it scales to 15 GB/s and 20 PB with an uptime of five 9s.
TrueNAS SCALE is the newest member of the TrueNAS family and provides an open source HyperConverged Infrastructure with Linux containers and VMs. TrueNAS SCALE offers the ability to cluster systems and provide scale-out storage with capacities up to hundreds of petabytes.
